Consulate General of the Republic of Korea

If you need a criminal background check, even if you're not Korean but lived there for a while, go here and they have the application form. Just fill it out and bring a 3x4cm picture along with your passport or a copy of it. I called many times to confirm details and inquire about the process but although the operator picked up, after transferring I only reached the answering machine. The consulate's English website didn't have information pertaining to it so I had to find it on the Korean one. The process is free btw. You may need it for a job abroad if you lived in Korea for some time. They said it would take a week or so.

I had NO problems when dealing with them. I was pleasantly surprised by how quick I was able to get my working visa. Overall positive experience!

I gave a call asking some questions about document process, the woman answering to my questions was very rude over the phone and then she hung-up. Shall we thank them giving us such the terrible experience?

I just called for some questions. they were super nice about it and answered all my questions. Very satisfied with the phone service. Even the time I went in person last year, all the workers were very nice except one particular lady. Reviews should be taken case by case, clerk by clerk.
