Very clean, helpful staff. Lots of parking and nice places to meet any potential pets...

I have such a love for animals and to see such a beautiful shelter with such clean cages and huge walking areas for these animals I was more than impressed. The staff were kind and patient with us as we inquied about the dogs. I will be one to continue to contribute to the El Dorado county shelter. They also attended to an animal abuse complaint immediately from my friend Amy and myself which in my book was admirable. Blessings to you all who work there. Respectfully Anna F

Great shelter. Volunteers do an amazing job caring for the animals and trying to get them adopted and noticed on social media. Really nice outdoor yard for meet and greet with potential dog and your own dog.

After my dog was grabbed by a good Samaritan while going potty, she was handed over to animal services. A few days later I went there and they wanted over $300 to get her back. Among the paperwork I was given, a document staring she was examined by a vet and was "healthy". When I saw that, I asked about the bump on her leg and they brushed it off. When I paid the fees to take her home, the bump on her leg was bleeding and had ruptured while animal services had her. I took her to the vet and learned that it was a cancer called osteosarcoma. Once it ruptured, it progressed rapidly. I was ready to amputate her leg as it could have saved her life if the cancer hadn't spread but in presurgery x rays, it was in her lungs and incurable. She was dead less than a month later. Animal services didn't cause the cancer but it ruptured in their care and not only did they not seek treatment for it, they handed me a false document staring she had been examined by the vet and was healthy when she had not even been seen. They apparently prepare the report before the animal sees the vet and that is B.S..! How can a clean bill of health ve written up prior to an exam?

We have a long and expensive history with this animal control. The whole making so much money from the community misfourtion. Its never a friendly experience, not saying anyone should b overjoyed by running dogs, but I personally would appreciate to be shown respect when I'm paying wages. Or when my driveway was tore up due to animal control trucks trying to turn around before we see them on our private property.(looking for my dog)..and the last time we got him back he seams to have contracted a bactieral or viral infection of the eye . i have many deplorable experiences. And have payed 6000 + to get my boy back home to his special needs daughter.
