We adopted my dads dog through Gateway. The staff there is very nice and they seem to genuinely love the animals that they care for. The facility is kept very clean and tidy. They are very thorough with background checks and want to make sure that whatever animal, cat or dog, they adopt out goes to a good home. They are the only NO KILL shelter in our area. As for the complaints, if people are not willing to make sure they have a good vet in mind or are not willing to purchasing something as simple as a cat carrier then they might not be ready to have a pet.

So thankful for all they do for the animals and they are great about helping you find the perfect one. I've found two dogs from them that I've loved and have been great dogs!

Nice facility, friendly staff. Limited selection of dogs, about 10.

Im a disabled vet, single, and alone, and I have a depressed cat that wanted a cat friend desperately but when I tried to adopt the perfect friend for my cat, they denied me for some OTHER family.
