I absolutely love the Beaver County Humane Society. We recently adopted our two cats from there and the volunteers are absolutely incredible. They gave us all the information we needed and more and they helped us a ton when one of our cats got an eye infection. I will definitely adopt from BCHS in the future

The humane society does so much to care for the animals they have, and do anything in their power to make sure the animal is a good, healthy fit for the family. Recently adopted a dog from here!

Wish i could give negative stars!!! They don't deserve any at this organization!!! My boyfriend showed me 4 puppies that had recently become available on their site, wr immediatly filled out the "pre-adoption" form that the site said was needed, hopped innthe car and drove about 2 hrs to go get a pup! Well, we arrived and the atmosphere was horrible..walking in i walked past a mother and daughter very upset...now looking back i believe it was due to the same reason as us. We stood at the reception desk for about 5 mins as we were given disgusting looks and ignored. Finally, we were called. We had told them we were there to see the puppies we inquired about on their site..the one receptionist said "okay, lastname?" As we were telling her a nasty woman standing beside her interrupted rudely and said "oh all the puppies are gone, they've been adopted out"...so shocked as they had just went onto the site as we filled out the application for them we were sad and went to leave. My boyfriend lingered for a minute deciding on what to do next as we have been looking for a puppy for a while and this happens...i went to walk out with my daughter and was stopped by a lovely and friendly volunteer, she said "come with me real quick" she took me back and said "are these the puppies you are here to see?" YES! sure enough, THEY WERE!! ALL 4 puppies still there. She then told me that noone had even been in to see the puppies yet, and that (the very rude ladies at the desk) like to keep the puppies there and dont like them to leave until they absolutely have to. At this point i am livid and go outside to tell my boyfriend this. Just as upset he goes back inside and asks why all 4 dogs are still there...the very rude lady in a disgusting tone proceeds to tell my boyfriend that all 4 are adopted the owners just left and will be back at a later date to get theit pups...ALL 4?!?! that is not even logical, we then overhear others talking that the pups were on the news, and would be running again. What is wrong with these people?!?! These puppies could hsve had loving homes instead of a kennel just to bring in business. NOT TO MENTION, more than just us were in and out due to the "puppies being adopted and gone" this place is a sham...a disgrace.. they are a perfect example as to why people do choose not to rescue animals and go to breeders instead!!!!!

Awful rude people first off and im honestly so discussed by their "adoption process" i had 2 write this review and will actually be looking in to an organization (or records the public can access) that would look in to the records of this operation. With that being said so starts the story. Me my gf (of 2 years)an her 5yo have been in search of a puppy for 3 weeks. Saw 4 cute puppies on their website at 1pm filled out this ever so important preapproval form. Followed instructions as web page had stated first come first serv stating they will not return calls as long as approved you go home with a dog Right?? simple enough. So we drive 2 hr out there get there walk in instantly felt not welcomed stood right at desk and was more or less looked over by staff for at least 5 min. Not sure if it was due to me being fairly young or my gf being African American but we were told all 4 puppies we were there to see were all ready adopted would you like to see any other older dogs. Well it wasnt completely crazy to think 4 people had come to adopt these beautiful puppies. So we were on our way out pretty down on the situation only to be approached by a very nice girl that volunteers there she walked my gf down the hall showed her the puppies we were there to see that were supposedly adopted allready. She then told my gf they like to have puppies here to bring in more people they keep puppies as long as possible for this reason. Well at this point im pissed. Went back to front desk ask why are all those puppies still here you said they were gone. This lady seriously told me four people came met with the dogs adopted them but not 1person took 1 home and all that happened in 3hr really???? And cherry on top the pups were on the news still up 4 adoption as is what i feel is sick propaganda using puppies to bring in people. Allwile i was there only a short time ago that dog could have had a home. Thats sick. and im goin to look in2 every possible form of information i can to make sure others are not treated the same and so so much more important these 4 legged companions get the help and get to the loving homes they deserve. I hope im wrong and really hope the animals are treated better than i was at the front desk.
