Motel 6 Concord - Kannapolis

The AC took hours to cool the room, the sheets were thin with no mattress pad underneath. The spreads were so stained they appeared to not to have been washed..ever. There were several Large stains on the walls that "appeared" to be coffee but no one ever attempted to clean off. Only half the lights in the room worked, none on the side with the beds. I did not expect 4 star but did expect much better than it was. I will say the lady on duty at the front desk was very nice and did everything she could to help. She gladly got us more sheets. I reserved the room in advance because I knew I was coming in late. If it had not been so late I would have looked for another room.

It is truly shocking how awful this hotel is. A lot of the problems- cigarette burns in the bed sheets, the filthy floors and (severely outdated) appliances, the disgusting bathroom - are just simply maintenance being lazy. If they just properly cleaned and maintained this place, it would be a 3 star hotel. But as I look around, I just see a staff that does not care about their facilities. I saw standard bugs, not any bed bugs as some other reviewers suggest. However, I may have just gotten lucky with my room. We stayed here in a pinch, and I guess it is good for that. Just close your eyes, go to sleep, and try not to look too closely at anything...

BED BUGS, I repeat, BED BUGS!!!! IF YOU DO NOT WAKE UP BITTEN, YOU GOT LUCKY. Room 118 has bed bugs; I woke up in pain, skin swollen & burning up. Please be careful if you decide to stay here! There was a wasp in the light fixture, if my Fiance didn’t sit and watch it, it would’ve fell on our heads during the night! THERE ARE ALSO ROACHES!!!! Please wash and dry your clothes and bedding twice when leaving.

The bedding strongly smelled of cigarette smoke and had two burns, I don't think it had been changed from the previous guest, we removed the sheets and just slept on top of the mattress. There were noisy guests running around late at night and we could hear a dog barking in one of the room, I think the late night desk person should have taken care of this. I know it was an inexpensive room but clean bedding and a peaceful nights sleep should be expected

Another point - for the front desk lady, who tried to safe the situation. North Carolina is a very strange place. I tried to find a bed last night, I dial to like 10 hotels, someone picked up like in 2 of them. Place where I arrived cost me about $60 for the night. I watched two rooms, I would like to watch more but they didn't have available or they lied me. Although this is non-smokers place , I was heated by strong nicotine smell when I just opened the door of both of rooms. Bed sheets where dirty like they never wash them after last visitors , dust was everywhere and I was not able to put my stuff on nightstand or table. Floor was so dirty I was about injure my feet. No soap, no clean towels. No hair dryer. And now after the night there I smell like I am smoking, even if I just took shower.
