Motel 6 Des Moines North

It was the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It was not only completely disgusting but it was very creepy as well. Scary people all around the building, I say scary not only because I'm a female but because I had my 2 young children as well. The room was not clean what so ever. The floor was literally black, there were cigarette burns in the blankets of the NON SMOKING room. The blanket on one of the beds had blood all over the bottom of it. The shower had mold all over the top frame as well. The beds were so uncomfortable I would have rather slept on cardboard. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to a bum!!

I think some of us have stayed at a bad or (very bad) motel/hotel including from this chain. But this location was NOT ONE OF THEM!!!!!! This was the best Motel 6 I have ever stayed in. The room was 100% clean. The walls, the lamps dust free, the remote, and especially the bed. I actually pulled the clean non-scratchy sheets back and sleep under them. Nice wood floor paneling. I was just amazed I didn't bust on 21 here and I found it in Des Moines,IA. If I need to return I will use them again. I hope they don't let me down in a different room. Sorry no pics this time since I messed up the room before taking them. Next time

I did not realize until I arrived at the hotel that I had stayed there a couple of years ago and I did not think it could get worse then; but it has. This is not indicative of the other Motel 6's I stay at. The questions and answers following are only appropriate for this Motel 6. Overall I am usually satisfied with my stays and Motel 6.

Most affordable in town; Efficient night check-in clerk; Security cameras in use and observed by office clerk; Refrigerator and microwave in rooms; Room was surprisingly cleaner than most in its class! Also, guest laundry room a nice option. Overall, a good choice for an economy budget.

I love the no carpets! The room smelled a little too much like air freshener, but I think it was covering up smoke, so that's better than smoke. It was easy to check in, easy to get back on the highway.
