Shiel Medical Laboratory

Been trying to call for a payment I have from this company, will dispute this if no one answers my concerns.

Shield Medical lab have sent a bill to collections. I have been trying to call them to get a copy of the claims # for the past three days and no one is picking up from the billing department. I call my insurance acquiring about this bill and said they see duplicates bill for same date of service. Be aware of scams and fraudulent with shield.

Shiel's Billing Department does nothing. Patients automatically get billed for the entire amount even if the insurance company has paid the full. Shiel's Billing sends DUPLICATE claims to the insurance company. Insurance company paid for the first one, but obviously, they are not going to pay again for the same identical claim. Then the patient gets charged for the full amount. It made me think that I was not covered, but I talked to the insurance company and I am fully covered and I even received paper work from the insurance company that it was paid for. I called Shiel 6X already and they still send me this bill of $485. I am reading the other posts and there is certainly a PATTERN. I want to escalate this issue as high as I can. Does anyone know how without any cost. I am so so mad.

Worst company ever! They took 6 months to bill me for lab testing and then bombarded me with dozens of letters in the mail about paying the bill. I paid it right away and kept getting threatening letters that they were turning me over to collections. When I finally called she confirmed I had paid the bill and when I asked why this was happening she said the girl who does the billing was not in today because she was "very, very sick." Liars! Terrible service and obviously incompetent. Wish I could give less than 1 star. Choose Quest or LabWorks.

I went online and paid my bills, then realized later several were duplicate bills. Shiel owes me over $300 in overpaid bills. I made this mistake in March. Six months later, the error is "still in processing", and I still have to wait for my refund. They want you to forget that you overpaid for the bills they overbilled you on. Corruption, laziness, and total unwillingness to make a situation right.

This company billed me and contacted a debt collector for a blood test that they conducted 3 years ago. Just absurd. INCOMPETENCE. The Shiel Medical Lab has awful service, absurdly long wait time, and incompetence just all over. No use making reservations here because they will make you wait at least 2 hours nonetheless. Constant errors in the system that makes check-in the most laborious thing ever. DO Not recommend.

Found out I had a collection put against me from this company for blood work I had done over 3 years ago that was sent to this lab from my old doctor. I never got a bill or notice of late payment for it. I always pay any bills I have on time.

Is there any phone number that actually works? I’m in a debt collection for a bill that was already paid in full by my insurance company.

Shiel Labs leaves trash in the building in which it is a tenant. There are lab coats on the floors and hung in public stair wells, discarded gloves on the hallway floors, and many giant bins of biohazard waste in the public hallways. There are even occasional signs for their employees not to wear their lab coats into the bathroom. Since their bathroom doors are open, I have seen that technicians wearing lab coats inside for myself. Many times, they also keep their lab doors open, so I can confirm that their lab does NOT look like the high tech lab in the photo which is from Marvel movies. Recently, large medical machinery from Shiel has been left outside in the public hallways. See photos.

My bf received a bill for 1000 and he’s never been here before. Said they tried to contact us but never did and now sent us to collection
