Speed Queen Bar-B-Q

The queen has been atop of the 10 best places for lunch list for decades,like since the early 70s. It has went through a few ups and downs and is near the top again recently. The menu is primarily barbq.and in my book darn good BBQ. I think it's fair for a guy from the suburbs to say pay attention to your surroundings. I have never had any problem with the restraunt where you are always treated nicely. I am a shoulder dinner guy and I am always happy with my food.service is always polite and efficient. Speed queen carry out is also on the rotation of non traditional Christmas dinner extras.

Years ago, I loved Speed Queen. It was the place to go for Bar B Que. I really wish I could give this place 5 stars but I can't. I've given it 2 stars only because the Bar B Que wings are fabulous, but the rest of the Bar B Que meats are not. They used to give generous amount of meat but now they don't. The cost is higher, and they charge for extra sauce. Its cash only, no credit cards. Not to mention the aggressive panhandlers that greet you at the door.

Horrible experience. I waited over an hour for my food. Ordered at 11:45am and left and came back and order was still not ready. I Went to the counter several times to ask how long the wait would be and the lady got an attitude said she didn't know. I came to the window again to ask how long for my order to be ready, and the lady yelled and said i gave you your order already. The manager came out and apologize for the inconvenience. I am a pregnant lady who wanted barbeque , experience was ruined. Never again will I go here. Food was not great. I could have spent time making something more appealing at home.

Way too long of a wait. I ordered at 5:45pm and was told my order of half and half and 6 pc wings will be ready by 6:15. I went in to pay at 6:15 and did not get handed my food until 6:40. All they had to do was give me a more realistic time. I get it’s busy but be honest about the time please. Wings were not good, there’s way too many wings spots in Milwaukee for me to settle for theirs. I’m good on Speed Queen.

First off if your hungry you better not waste your $!! They give you literally 5 rib tips for almost 10$ (taxing), then skimpy ass sides.., i waited 30mins for my order and there was another guy who was disappointed after ordering the chicken dinner. He insisted it wasn't!! A random guy in the grill said yeah in a rude tone when i asked in disbelief if that was my dinner for real. I literally counted 5 burnt rib tips, food horrible, portions horrible, price horrible...service crappy! Plus its cash only no refunds... What a shisty dump, never again in life!! I can't believe their still open doing this. Speed queen definitely not known for speed and sure as hell not royalty..bad choice 👎
