What a gorgeous place! I was fortunate enough to go on a day when there were few others. Often I felt like I had the whole park to myself! The air was clean but carried a dreamy haze and tasted sweet. I went hiking deep into the forest, far enough to come as close to complete silence as I'd ever been. The sensation was exhilarating and unnerving all at once. I'm definitely making plans to bring the family!

Park is great. Lots of historical sections to check out with the family. But if you're like me, and you require pushing a stroller around, this isn't the right park for you. Unless you're willing to walk along the road (no sidewalk).
The entrance is EXTREMELY narrow. Two cars could barely fit along the two way roads. Some sections you had to drive outside the road to make the vehicles fit and it's dangerous because you're on the cliffside.

Park is kept up nice! Trails are great and cleared out nicely. Many photo opportunities as well. Good for biking, hiking and fishing. Also has camping sites.

Great state park with a lot of hiking trails and other stuff to do. It's beautiful and very well maintained. You definitely have to visit the office first to get all kind of maps and information. We love it.

A 45 minute drive from Essex, Susquehanna State Park is clean, quiet and relaxing. We went to a birthday party. My niece had one of the huge pavilions. The only drawback was no trash receptacles. She wasn't told this and we ended up having to take 2 huge bags of trash home. There's a really big clean restroom on premises but no paper towels to dry hands.
