The Mountaineer Inn

Inexpensive and cool in a vintage way. The pool worked out for the kids, and the fridge kept my beer cold. I love the throwback neon signs. There is WiFi. The room itself is otherwise outdated and bare bones. It also cost 75% less than the hipster options downtown and also has some character. Also, there is a remarkably good camera system on the grounds for security so I was left with some sense of safety.

The Mountaineer needs to not exist anymore. My room was disgusting.. I'm pretty sure housekeeping hadn't done anything to my room in quite a while. I pulled back my sheets, only to find blood spots on the sheets. Upon entering the bathroom, there was blood on the tub and the back of the door. Body hair all over the bathroom floor. When I checked out in the morning, the maid was sitting outside smoking... I guess we see how hard she cleans. I informed the lady at the counter upon checkout and she didn't care at all and told me "I have no idea what you're talking about". On the plus side, it was only $55. This place would be great if the owner/managers cared at all and did some repair and maintenance.

If your looking for the mountain feel with your stay this is the place amazing customer service. The room is not upgraded but it gives it that real touch, almost like being in a cabin on the mountain. Breakfast was perfect along the the coffee and it's beautiful to wake up and see the mountains. This is where I'm going when I go back to visit. It's affordable as well.😍☺️

Prepaid room. Called early to tell them we would be in very late...guy said "no problem". When we arrive the lobby is locked, no one answers the bell or the phone. Place looks sketchy as hell. Pool is drained. Random people wandering the grounds. Crooks. Stay away.

This place is centrally located to everything you could want to do. Super cozy especially considering it was built in 1933! The staff is super friendly and the continental breakfast is by far better than any big chains we've satyef out, plus they offer a military discount. Will stay here every time we're this way.
