U-Haul Moving & Storage of Ferndale

Well its Sunday at 5 and even though the office is closed, which is fine, I can’t get into my unit. I can’t even get in the gate. Would be nice to not have to pay extra just to get into my unit when it’s “after hours”. Called around and seems this is the only place that does it. Will be moving out ASAP! Even just saw the owner and was denied. Been here for over 2 years and this is how I’m treated... Was told “sorry alarms are set” then as I’m writing this in the parking lot I see another car go through the gate and to their unit. How hard is it to let someone in? It takes a lot for me to say this but take your money elsewhere. After looking the person in the eye and being turn away after over two years, I’M OUT!! Will be going back to Pan Tech most likely. Friendly people that won’t charge extra for “after hours”. So I just called Pan Tec and it turns out for the about $60 cheaper I can get a the same size place and the gate hours are from 6am-10pm NO ADDED CHARGE. And this is only the first place I’ve called.

This is the third time my dad has used this place, and it's been a cluster every time! Was supposed to be our drop-off for two trucks we drove across the country (per his contract!), and when we got there after driving 2 days were told they don't take trucks that big. Well, we made them fit! Then he reserved a truck from there again, only to show up and be told they don't have one. So he had to go to Bellingham, which ended up costing a lot more in mileage (Bham also failed to mention about the reimbursement if they don't have your reserved truck!) Again today he had reserved a truck from this location only to get a call the night before (from corporate location) saying they wouldn't have a truck. He got a bit testy at this, so they worked it out so there would be one here, albeit 2 hours later. LO AND BEHOLD, NO TRUCK AGAIN! Was told had to get it at the Labounty location (which was so much better, actually gave us the missing truck rebate). I don't necessarily blame the people that work here, but don't give them your business. Nor Bellingham. Go to the one on Labounty, if you want my honest assessment.

I used the U-box service and the staff was very accommodating of my need to visit the facility multiple times on "move-in" day to get everything packed away.

Love these guys!! Uhaul.. Should feel lucky to have them...
