So far, I've only been in Portland a few months but have had only good experiences at this post office. The gentleman who usually helps me at the counter is always polite and helpful, and there sometimes is a lady with a check-out cart who helps people in line (of course, once there's a line she's nowhere to be found, and it's credit card only, so not a perfect system haha). This location is open a full day on Saturday, which is convenient, and I've never had to wait long in line.

I ship frequently and was afraid to go here after reading reviews, but went here 12 times in the last month, and each experience was fast and friendly. I particularly love they are open Saturdays and parking hasn’t ever been a problem.

I've been a resident for about 8 months, so coming here is super easy. This post office stays open late, and the ladies at the counter are always wonderful to everyone. The lines can be long, but it's a post office. Hit and miss with that one, and they always have at least 2 people available to help customers.

I asked a question regarding general delivery and received a perfect answer from the staff here. Literally a perfect step by step answer.
I can tell who they are used to dealing with. Awesome people.

As a long-time resident, Hoyt is my go-to for postal service. It's a high usage, downtown site: come earlier in the afternoon for shortest lines; the lines are longest near closing. The staff is friendly, professional, but under pressure to serve quickly since some self-centered folks want their custom-tailored service experience without waiting patiently for their turn. Hoyt Station is full service to all people in a large-ish city... be willing to engage your inner resources, or talk to a queue neighbor to pass the time. Have your stuff already packaged, don't expect the staff to ready your mind, be sober, leave the dogs in the car (windows down), be patient with ESL transactions, etc. Smile. These & similar expressions of patience have served me well. Finally, DO offer them your positive ideas to improve the customer experience. We'll all benefit!
