D'Aniello's Amity Bicycles

I called regarding a replacement part on a bike I bought secondhand off craigslist. I'd already had a small repair made at another bike shop, but the experience was so unfriendly that I decided to call Amity. What a difference! The service over the phone was so friendly, my questions were answered and new products suggested but not pushed. He even gave me pricing without me asking, the full name of the item so I could look it up online and see if it was what I wanted, and is going to call me back with information on another part. Oh, and at the end of my call he'd remembered my name (meanwhile I've forgotten his, oops). Helpful and friendly -- I will definitely be shopping here and bringing my new bike in for a tune-up!

What a great shop! I took my beloved bike in for a needed tune up and got it back in a couple days good as new! They repaired all of the things I complained about and didn't try and up sell me on things I didn't need, in fact they actually saved me money on some things and were very knowledgeable. I went for my first ride after getting it back today and if felt good to really be able to crank on the gears again, no more chattering, squeaking, or slipping! Thank you Guy and Crew! Aggravating experience - Placed a deposit on a bike to order - they said would ship in the coming week. They said the order was delayed and would find out about buying from another bike shop. Never followed up with me so I requested my deposit back. Wouldn't issue the deposit back to my credit card upon sending them an email with a picture of my credit card used, the receipt, and drivers license since I live an hour away. Finally get a clear weekend months later to go in for the deposit. They say they will refund $465 of the $500 deposit because they charged $35 for bike fitting. Never originally told me that the fitting for the bike was any amount of money. I said they never noted anything about the 2 minute bike sizing being a cost in any scenario. They said I was lying and made a snide remark that they should have kept more of the deposit. Only terrible experience I've had with a bike shop in my life, not worth the risk
