Excellent location, great staff, beautiful and spacious apartments in a historic building. We have loved living here and would highly recommend it. Where else can you get amazing craft beer, fantastic food, salon services and even doughnuts at any hour without having to leave your building? And to get in additional steps each day, trek around the Haymarket, walk to the library, or hop on a bike to get around more quickly. The special events such as the monthly concerts are great, and the underground parking really appreciated in icky weather.
Best Location in Lincoln, and friendly management! The location is unbeatable, I am 100 yards from food, bars, a grocery store, and a 3 minute walk from the stadium. The room is spacious and not made with cheap materials...unlike some of the other apartment complexes. The management is friendly and it doesn't feel like "you vs them". I parked in a restricted spot to run inside quick and instead of towing me the management called me and reminded me to move. That's customer service! Price-wise it is slightly above the cost of living in a loud/unfinished college building. Totally worth it..
I lived here for a total of 3 years and was not happy with the quality for the cost of living here. The apartments themselves seem nice when you first visit, but living in them is another story. Any apartment on the first floor by the street will collect huge amounts of dust even with rigorous cleaning/ dusting. I even taped my windows shut to seal them!! And I still got tons of dust in my apartment note: my neighbors complained of the same problem. Another issue was that my apartment did not hold heat well at all! If you get an apartment with huge windows, be prepared to pay an absolute fortune in heating during the winter. During "wedding season" something they don't tell you when you sign the lease, the walls of your apartment will literally shake with noise until the wee hours of the morning. This happens most weekends in the summer, and if they clean up afterwards, you will hear screeching tables and chairs being dragged across the dance floor until the early morning hours. I was a college kid and the noise still bothered me! Speaking of which, if you decide to rent an upstairs unit, be prepared to feel like you are living in a frat house. Many college kids rent the upstairs units, and they will often party in the halls and blare music all night on the weekends. Overall, this place is very poorly run and way too expensive for what you get. This place runs off its name and not much else. Don't even get me started on management... unprofessional and rude! If that doesn't get you, the loud Big Red tailgates outside your window on game days will! No hate though, love the Huskers!! Save yourself a lot of money and time and go find something cheaper and better in "new" Haymarket.
A group of us stayed in the " Summer Suite " at the Grand Manse. It is an excellent 3 bedroom 2 full bath condo for any event. I read reviews of the 1st floor units having a lot of dust, we didn't see any dust AT ALL, in fact the 1st floor was more clean than a 5 star hotel. We loved our stay at the Grand Manse. I would definitely recommend a table at the Boiler Brewery, located in the basement of the Grand Manse! Thank you for reading my review. Ryan Scheer
I have currently lived at the Grand Manse for about six months now, and I believe that it is a great apartment complex to call home. Personally, I thought the rent was comparable to other downtown apartments. I chose to live at the Grand Manse because of the fact that it is a historical building, and the apartments are beautiful. I think the apartment complex is well run, and the landlord, Devany, does an amazing job running the place. She always responds to my emails within 24 hours of receiving them, my maintenance requests are fixed the next day, and she even bought carts/ wagons for the residents to use when they are unloading their groceries. Overall, I would recommend living at the Grand Manse. The apartments are beautiful, and they are in a super great location because you are close to the Haymarket and UNL campus.
Rented this ~$2000 per night property to host 4 disabled veterans and their families at the 2022 Nebraska/Oklahoma football game. Location is very convenient to The Haymarket and the stadium and the property is aesthetically striking…then we “looked under the hood”. It was NOT a good experience. CYNTHIA needs hospitality training and, for $2000/night, we are not out of line expecting the host to quality check the property to avoid the following experiences broken fridges, not enough towels, etc.... Arrived early & checked the key box…our ASSIGNED PIN worked & 2 key fobs were in the box so we assumed the property was ready early. Incidentally, 2 key fobs to access the building AND the hallway for the entry door for a place that sleeps 20 people is UNACCEPTABLE we had to request…then go fetch additional fobs. Shortly after settling in, Cynthia’s ‘WELCOME MESSAGE' arrives; “I see you arrived early, but I don’t have an early check in request”…our bad…but is this passive/aggressiveness necessary for a $2000/night property? Next message from Cynthia arrived as we ordered supper “residents are complaining that your vehicles stick out too far, please remove one of your vehicles”…so we get to stress about that while hosting 16 people for supper. Got a message later saying the cars were fine…for $2000/night, Cynthia could put eyes on the situation BEFORE sending the initial message & adding to the stress of hosting 16 people for supper. In the am, we messaged Cynthia requesting additional towels there weren’t enough for everyone. Cynthia's response was to ask if we looked for towels under the sinks and assured us, “there are enough towels; if not there's a wash machine, you can wash some”…host was wrong, there were NOT enough towels. Additionally, for $2000/night, I don’t expect the host to send me on an Easter Egg hunt for towels; and we didn't come to Lincoln to do laundry. Messaged Cynthia that the refrigerators weren’t working; DESPITE BEING ON THE COLDEST SETTING, one stayed at 54 degrees and the other stayed at 43 degrees…NOT safe for food storage. Over the course of 36 hours, neither fridge made enough ice for more than a couple drinks. Oh…the espresso machine doesn’t work either. Cynthia said she’d send a MX man to look at the fridges and bring more towels…the fridges NEVER worked but after the game there were a bunch of sheets & towels piled on the Master Bed. Another passive aggressive move. Instructions say a WELCOME BOOK would be sitting on the kitchen counter…it was not. We went on a day and a half treasure hunt before finding it tucked way back in a drawer behind a pile of brochures. Again, Cynthia needs hospitality training in both accommodation preparedness and customer service. I do NOT recommend renting this property. If you DO rent the property, do a VERY thorough walk thru because now Cynthia is charging us $107 for a carpet stain in a bedroom...where the only liquid was distilled water for a CPAP.
I ate at Blue Orchid. Tom Ka seemed slightly bitter. The plates not as fancy. I had a donut at Hurts Donut. It was chocolate with mint and Oreo cookie coating. It was okay. In past I have eaten at the Gray Whale. A very good sushi restaurant.
Staff is great! Maintenance guys are the best!! Always have timely responses to requests. Location is wonderful! Not many people can brag that they have restaurants, a donut shop and a brewery available in their "home" and they are close to downtown events.
'Have lived at The Manse eight years and it's "home." I love it here for its 'walkability" to downtown movies, concerts, exercise facilities, restaurants and now even a long awaited grocery store. Staff members take care of building or apartment issues promptly and are also very neat people as are the other busy, courteous tenants. Many good forward thinking features include recycling of paper, cardboard and glass, underground basement parking where lighting goes on and off with driving usage. Elly Hart
I really enjoy my place at the Manse. Very historic building and beautiful architecture. Each room is a different and unique experience, and the layouts allow for a very homey feel. Would recommend it to anyone, especiallly those that value quality and precise work.
