The Big Red Lighthouse is world famous for photography and is a neat and very accessible landmark. From what I learned from an older, local, couple, the lighthouse was painted yellow originally, and was painted red in the late 1950s. The beach has coarser sands and is wonderful on the feet. Lots of kite flying today! Be sure to visit if you are on Holland, Michigan.

We went here to watch sunset during tuliptime festival 2018. This was a nice and clean beach near to the big red lighthouse. There was no entry fee or parking charge may be we went in just half hour before sunset. Parking was ample despite tuliptime crowd. It was very beautiful to watch sunset here on the Beach. It was getting colder as sun goes down due to cold winds from the lake. So it will be good to have coat/jacket if going to watch sunset during this time of the year. A must visit if you in Holland area.

Very well maintained. Lots to explore. Large beach area. A sampling of activities you can do here: swim, walk on the pier, beach volleyball, picnic, ice cream, watch boats in the chanel, climb a sand dune, bike, roller blade. Pretty much a focal point for an idylic summer day. But don't think that the fun ends when summer is over. Spring, fall, winter - there's always something beautiful to see here. Only one drawback: the crowds. But there are plenty of non-peak days and hours when you can come and avoid the press. Early morning is an especially sweet time of day.

Very beautiful especially the Neil's dutch village. A must go place. You can see the ancient dutch lives with wooden shoes, unique dresses, windmill, Tulips and their animals.

Sometimes crowded and dirty from the throng which has descended upon it but a beautiful beach if you hit it at the right time. An iconic Holland location with Lake Michigan sunsets that are the best reason to go and go back again.
