Kirk Park

Haven’t explored the entire park yet but they have a great dog area with beach. Nice trails through the woods. In higher traffic parts of the season it looks like you’ll need a county park pass to get in. In May we drove in without having to pay but they have a booth and posted fees so expect in Summer.

What a great place. This was my first time there and I'd gone very early in the morning. Great amenities and easy access. I wasn't expecting one but was very impressed to see a special area provided for allowing dogs to run free on the beach. The beautiful walk down the trail through the woods leads right into a staircase decending to the beach. I had to carry my older basset down and back up the stairs but absolutely worth it. We we're the only ones there just after sunrise and I'm not sure if it is typically a populated area in the midday summertime or not but we will definitely be going back a few more times this year.

Our young puppy enjoyed the dog beach down here. Tons of well behaved dogs. Is a very well kept beach. Will bring puppy back when she’s a bit older so she can enjoy the water also!

Some people fail to realize that all Coastline in Michigan on the lake is public land. For some reason people try to push you off. Don't let them do it. Beachfront access is beachfront access whether you live there, rent a condo there condo or simply being a dick from the observation tower you are fully allowed to put your stuff wherever you want and sit in the Sun as long as you want don't let anyone at this park tell you otherwise.

One of my favorite places to take nature photographs. Great off leash dog beach as well. Plenty of great spots here including hiking trails, picnic areas, outdoor games, and beautiful beaches. This a great place for a family day cation or to just get out and enjoy some peace and quiet in nature.
