MDOT Motor Vehicle Administration

First, the employees are great. However, the license renewal process stinks. I was there for 3 hours on 27 December. I was flagged as one of the "lucky ones" who had to bring my life history, original Social Security card, etc. to prove who I was, where I lived, and that I'm a legal citizen. There are no signs to guide you where to go. I had to stand in line for the Information station only to be told I had to go to another line. The second line was serviced by a nice woman at a small desk. When I finally made it to her, I asked about how they handled customers who made an appointment online. She told me it didn't matter. In other words, scheduling an appointment is meaningless. Lastly, I waited with the masses for my number to be called. They only had 4...then 3...then 2 people working. They ramped back up to 3 people when my number was finally called. Three hours later I walked out with my process finally done. Thankfully, I don't have to do this again for 7 years!

You get what you give. Come prepared and your experience will be as good or better than mine. I love coming here.

MVA. Pretty good! I have been to the Waldorf location about 6 times since I left the military and changed my residency to MD. I experienced both good and bad employees but 90% of what I observed were polite, professional people trying their best to help. They deal with a population that is everything from very literate and prepared professionals to some that can barely read and write, In any language. I say keep doing the thankless job that you are doing and police the few bad eggs that you have that sometimes give you a bad name. Thanks for YOUR service.

Do not listen to the other reviews, for either here or the one in Loveville. I went to the one in Loveville for my first on the road driving test, and as soon as I got up to the desk to hand over my paperwork, all 3 people in that area had bad attitudes. The person that examined me was the rudest person I’ve ever met. I failed of course, due to the fact that he made me more nervous. I went to the DMV in the Industrial Park in Waldorf, and the person I went up to to hand in my paperwork was as nice as could be. When I went to take the road test, the examiner was just the same, I passed and got my license all within 1 hour.

I've been here 3 times and it's the quickest and most efficient MVA I've been to.
