Having never been to New York City...well..it was an experience like none I had ever seen. People "watching" was fun. All walks of life abound here. The rhythm of life was constant and fast paced. Coming and going with so much to take in. The city had a looming feel, like an old giant, alive and well. Port Authority was easy enough to navigate. Had no trouble finding my way. The unfortunate amount of people that appeared to be homeless here was a little startling. The staff themselves were nice though, even through the craziness, but the actual bus terminals could be better labeled for a better experience. Though I can kind of understand as this station does not have electronic signage at the gates. The terminal food was pretty excellent, and while I know everyone's experience will be different the people hanging around were pretty fun to talk to.

Buses are clean and 85% reliable for timely service. Customer service is average. They try to help if you are polite but they are not properly trained to deal with international travelers or special needs readily. Overall my experience was a positive one. They resolved my issue effectively. Drivers sometimes leave early or have been rude and on occasion late and not attentive.

Sometimes when buying tickets online you don't know what gate you'll be assigned to and people are always in a rush or offices are to full to get a quick answer if you're running late. So try to get there with half an hour of margin. But even if you didn't, fortunately the station is compact enough to get across in under 5 minutes. If you're using Greyhound, it is two floors down, near gates 60's.

YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKES! The ticket seller sold us the ticket and type the wrong date. We wait for an hour for nothing! The boarding guy was so rude to us, he keep telling us “ it’s the ticket for future.” And when I try to ask him how can we solve the problem he just keep drove us away. At the end, I have no choice but go back and wait for another hour. They don’t do any reimburse for us. That’s how they solve the problem. Wasting your time and care nothing about you. I was so late ! It really ruined my trip. I will never ever go with this company again. Hope you guys think twice before you go with them. They do not care about the customer and will not pay for their mistake.
