Ramada by Wyndham Ankeny

At first when I checked in my family of 5 I booked on expedia and some how it didn't come through on the hotels end but the front desk ladies took quick care of it And found us a room, not to mention it is memorial day weekend and it was graduation in their town, so it was booked up. Thank you ladies. The room was poolside so my 3 kids were super happy. The pool area was clean and the towels were always stocked. The room was clean as well. Plus we have 2 service dogs and the front desk ladies didn't hassle me like other hotels have in the past. Thanks again for the great stay!

It's a nice hotel with great potential, but the rooms and hallways are humid. They had a children's party going on and the kids were swimming in the pool very loudly all day and even after pool hours closed. It was very annoying to say the least. Our bathroom vent is also broken. Other than that, the diner is great for your continental breakfast and the staff is very nice. The hotel just needs some work.

Only real complaint is that there were a bunch of kids in the pool, which is right in the center of the hotel (so you can hear them no matter what room you're in). They don't shut it down until 11, so you can't really sleep well until then (which sucks, since I had to be up at 6:30 one morning of my stay). Everything else is about what you'd expect of any hotel. Bring some melatonin or some sleep aid and this is a good stay.

Considering wet didn't initially have a shower curtain, our remote wouldn't change the channels and the sink was very slow draining ... they were very attentive to give us a shower curtain to hang ourselves, replace the remote allowing us to use their master remote and the maintenance man would have attended to the clog if we would have not put out the do not disturb sign while we were gone the next day. It's has a really good dinner with a nice bar. The pool area was nice but the hot tub was down.

Room was a handicap accessible room near the pool. Desk person forgot to let us know that since the rooms are handicap accessible the doors opened differently and we had to walk clear back to the desk for her to tell us. We ate at the attached Ankeny Diner. Very mediocre food. Visited the pool and no towels were stocked. Very noisy room. We could hear people in the pool area from our room as if they were actually IN the room with us.
