This “company” has a unique and blatant ignorance for its tenants that I have never seen before. All my calls go to voicemail and when trying to physically go to their office I found it abandoned. Red door has one mission and that’s to capitalize on college students. I can’t wait to escape my contract and have a new reality company even if that next company is even average. I truly believe that a girl running a lemonade stand would be more responsible to her customers. From not receiving pest control to a permanently broken dishwasher Red door has been a living hell. Please save yourself the frustration and choose literally ANY other reality company.

I would advise anyone and everyone to rent elsewhere. But if you must use Red Door, pay attention to their lease and avoid management at all costs. Upon moving in, I was required to purchase my own renter's insurance or pay an extra fee for theirs. After attaining my own, I was still charged a monthly "processing fee" at half the cost of their insurance plan. Though you may submit a request, you will more than likely pay for any maintenance, even what they claim to cover. Prior to moving out, you are required to pay for the entire last month, but you must move out 3 days before your lease is up (the money is not refunded nor is rent prorated). To top it all off, I was told that deposits are usually held for the 60 day limit issued by the state. Though the property was nicely remodeled and in a prime location, the management is less than stellar. They seem to be overworked and understaffed, which makes for poor interactions.

This only gets better. Late afternoon yesterday I received a letter from red door with an itemization of charges taken from my deposit. Two light bulbs $15.00 each for a total of $30.00 for two 25 cent light bulbs. A cleaning bill for $125.00 receipt that had all notes on it whited out, with different persons name signed and then whited out as well as the apartment number? An oven drip pan at $75.00 . This drip pan was there since the oven was purchased about 15 years ago. Thats called wear and tear. People wake up and realize these apartment managers are ripping you off.

Save yourself a lot of headache and don't do business with them. Sara was suppose to take care of us and she did a terrible job. She never returned my calls, would constantly say she'd call back and never ever would, gave no assistance with problems at the house, and only reached us for money.

Seldom do I pause to air my grievances in the form of an online review, but you, Red Door is one of my exceptions. Let me begin my review by stating this; avoid doing business with Red Door at all costs. Despite their honest and helpful facade they convey when you originally approach them looking for real estate their intentions are this: to keep your security deposit at all costs and turn around and do it to the next tenant unfortunate enough to sign with them. When my roommate and I left our rental it was in better condition than when we started our lease. We fixed all the small holes in the walls left from the last tenant scrubbed down, literally everything and vacuumed over the carpet multiple times. But despite our best efforts to leave the property in great condition we received a whopping $44 of our $600 deposit back. What the lease doesn't tell you is that these mandatory cleaning fees add up to around $230 for what Red Door considers to be their base cleaning that they do for all their properties. In addition to the $75 "admin fee" that they keep for no reason we were already out half our deposit. The next charge was $109 for replacing 2 light bulbs, 2 smoke alarm batteries, and an air filter. Nice. Seems reasonable... Y'all have some nice profit margins there. Next was the pest charge. Upon the weeks following the move in into our rental there was the occasional roach or two that would scurry across the counter. Not wanting to bother management, we took it upon ourselves to buy roach traps, and what have you, to exterminate the pest. The battle with the roaches carried on, many were lost, but with enough traps we were triumphant. Sometime in the weeks following our move out Sarah did her walk through and is quoted saying roaches were apparently "falling from the ceiling". I doubt this to be true, but without our consistent replacing of the traps, perhaps. But of course, my roommate and I were charged for the pest control bill, which was a pre-existing issue. Nice. All the preceding charges were just as ridiculous. Not to mention Sarah forgot to pay the city for our water (which we payed her a flat rate every month for) and we spent a day without water. (I had a job interview that day so thanks for that) We went above and beyond to be model tenants and were rewarded with ludicrous charges and unreturned phone calls. Red Door also has mandatory pre-leasing period where they show up and have future rental prospects view your house starting three months before your lease even ends. This could be at 10am or in the early evening, Sarah usually doesn't even give you the courtesy of a full days notice. Take your business literally anywhere else, my 10 year old nephew would manage properties more fairly and professionally if you asked him to. To end, let me say this, I doth tip my cap to your creative ways/wording you use to steal your clients money and I truly look forward to never doing business with you again. Good day.
