Avis Car Rental

Fast checkout, but dont expect engaging customer service...which may not be a bad thing.

I have rented several dozen of times at the Springfield (Brandon Ave) location. The staff are friendly, fast and efficient. The location has no seating but is inside the Holiday Inn so that is not a problem. The only issue is that this is basically a one-man operation so there is often a wait to complete your transaction during peak rental hours when the agent needs to pull a car around, check mileage or for damage, etc. I did notice, however, in a recent upgrade, that they have put in a second agent station and am hopeful that they will add that second agent soon. Overall, that issue is tiny. As I said, I have rented here dozens of times. I have always had great service and 95% of the time I get an acceptable car immediately (the other 5% it is usually a matter of the car not sufficiently cleaned inside or having a smell that I couldn't tolerate for a week-long rental). They always take care of that last 5%. I don't leave the location unhappy. Additional Note: Due to this location being both an AVIS and Budget location, they may have a shortage of vehicles during times of major events in Washington DC (Marathons, Papal visit, 4th of July, Cherry Blossom Festival). Therefore, I suggest booking well ahead during these times and confirming your car 24 hours ahead if possible.

DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM FACILITY!!!!! I rented a car Friday and the car was dirty...., pizza sauce on the seat, bottle cap on the door compartment, stain marks on the seats and car not vacuumed... When I told the guy it was dirty, he replied it was not to him, but he end up giving me another car that was still not clean but OK... I drove the car 1400 miles and returned to the same location and I notice the guy renting the same car, I returned right away with out doing a safety check and a clean up....

Absolutely fantastic service at this location. I dont rent from anywhere else since I went here for the first time.
