Buckshot’s Restaurant

The food was very good but there was two issues that made it 3 stars. 1- We asked how much for the buffet and was told $8.50 for Saturday’s but we were charged $9.50. (Considering we only got one trip up to the bar- it was not worth it). 2- said they were open to 6:00pm but we came in around 1:45pm and soon after - two women and two men came in and locked the door and changed the sign to closed. They were actually going outside and telling people to leave because they were closed. Then they stood at the front by the table and door and just looked at us. No one restocked the food on the bar and the waitress told us there was not anymore sweet tea for a refill. No desserts of any kind and it was only 1:55pm. It was quite obvious that the people at the door wanted us to leave so we did.

The food was good - but painfully slow if you order from the menu. The buffet looked good, but it really depends when the last batch of food was brought out. We were there for an hour and a half and didnt see anything get changed, replaced, or added.

You just can’t beat this for authentic southern food. We had the buffet. It was delicious and constantly replenished with new dishes. Fried chicken, fish and shrimp in gravy was outstanding, especially the chicken. Plenty of variety, very clean and friendly. Chef sent out fish for us to try. Flounder tasted like it was just caught.

This family owned soul food & seafood restaurant is a spot Guy should visit. It's opened Tuesday - Sunday. It's a long distance drive for me, but the food never disappoints, especially their Sunday buffet that ends by 3:30. And this sweet potatoes treats are the best!

Went back to my hometown & visited this restaurant w/my Mom for her birthday & they had great Southern Comfort Food!
