Budget Car and Truck Rental

I give four stars because I am leveling the playing field. I rent OFTEN and I've rented from every car rental place in Wichita. The things people are complaining about - showing up to pick up car and nothing available - happens at EVERY car rental place in Wichita. Every. Single. ONE. It's happened to me. They schedule their rentals pretty tight to avoid sitting vehicles (and which one of you complaining would advise them to do otherwise?) and when customers don't return by their appointed time, or decide last minute to extend their rental, they mess up the allocation pool. I get it, it's hugely inconvenient but it's a fact of the business model. That aside, I have had very good service from Budget East. I get cars that are GORGEOUS and the price beats every other rental company. I'll keep coming back because I can't pass up the best deal in town.

Each of my past four rental experiences with Budget has been negative. My final reservation was two hours later than the reserved time, forcing me to miss an appointment. Despite my phone calls and repeated emails to Budget’s Customer Service office, no one ever responded. I’ll never use Budget again, and I would encourage you to reserve rental cars from any other rental company. Budget is not worth the headaches it creates. Terrible customer service.

Pathetic customer service. We reserved an SUV weeks in advance at the east Kellogg location. When we went to pick up the vehicle, they didn't have it. The one and only vehicle available was an F150 that hadn't been cleaned from the previous rental. The desk person couldn't have been less helpful. Offered nothing in the way of explanation or apology or seemed to care at all. We didn't have the option to change our travel plans so we took it. Glad it wasn't supposed to rain as luggage for 4 people had to go in the bed. Up the road we noticed it also hadn't been filled with gas. We didn't have the time to return to Budget so another stop and $33 to fill up. I requested a refund for the gas when we returned the truck. I had to call them about it 2 or 3 times over 3 months. Finally at least got the refund. Not once any words resembling an apology for the trouble or they cared about keeping us as customers. We'll not do business with them again.

Great service. Great vehicle. Great price. Will rent again. Our family loved the minivan.

Scheduled a rental 2 weeks out (and paid IN FULL). Got to Budget and they told me they wouldn't have ANY vehicles available until 2 hours later but they wouldn't have what I paid for until 8 hours after my reservation... The manager of all the Wichita locations wouldn't even help me find another car from another place even though she was literally sitting right next to them in the booths at the airport. Employees are lazy and not helpful. Had to spend another $100 at enterprise last minute and I had to call the 800 number to get some of my money back. Company is a complete waste of time.
