Dollar Rent a Car

I've rented from Dollar several times and am always highly satisfied!

Was a good experience. My only small complaint was they did not have Dollar Express cars ready so we could just get in and go. Other than that, the car was clean, the staff was friendly and nice, and return was easy.

The price was great, they don't need a major credit card to rent a car, I found the staff to be very friendly, the car was brand new and the whole process took less than 15 minutes for me, from the time I got to the desk to the time I got into the car. Check in when I was done was extremely easy, you just put your keys in a drop box on your way back to the plane. Super easy.

Location is across from main terminal. Car I rented was new and clean. Service staff was friendly albeit slow. This is due to the fact they appear understaffed at this location. When I returned my car, they do not check the car in in the rental garage like the other carriers at this airport, instead you self park the car in the garage which is unattended to return to the counter with the keys, and wait in line behind new customers renting cars. Not good if your in a crunch to get to your flight. Also this method of return raises issues if you return the car and it isn't inspected right away, what happenes if it gets hit in the garage/lot before they come out to check it after you leave?? The original renter I'm sure they would put on the hook for paying damages and accuse you it occurred during your rental. Next time I'm in Wichita I'll go with AVIS, they have 2 people at their counter and they have the garage manned with staff for the return process which is the standard for most airport rental car operations.

I had a horrible experience with my Dollar Car Rental in Wichita. I have been traveling a lot the last twenty years and the service of Dollar-Rent-A-Car was deplorable when it came time to find out what went wrong with my check-in of my car. They were too busy to handle those returning cars and instructed me to leave off the keys and the mileage. I topped off the tank and all was done correctly but several days later I found they did not close out my rental agreement. Took me two hours to reconcile over the phone. It was finally done but it was very aggravating being switch from one operator to another. Dollar, you need to change the way you provide service.
