I can only say nice things about my experience. The rep over the phone was so nice. He helped me fix my issue and helped me get a great deal. The rep at the location was extremely nice. I did not have any issues but my sister did and she went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help them. Even if that meant referring them to another location because of their situation. Most places are like "oh well, have a nice day" but this lovely woman left her station to help us. (I dont know her name but this was at the JFK location). I will ALWAYS use Budget because their customer service reps are AMAZING!!!!!

Horrible customer service. Claimed that I would have to take a $500 charge on my card but did not explain why when I asked. Marlene couldn’t give me a straight answer as to why that would happen. She said, “Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t. I don’t know. We will see.” Manager would not leave the office when requesting to speak with them. Ultimately canceled my reservation because Marlene was incredibly disrespectful and unhelpful. She did not understand how to assist or help her customers. Customers that went through her line took the longest and seemed to be the most frustrated. I will never book/reserve with budget again.

Very helpful staff. They have lots of information and have great advice on routes. Make sure to note where you leave from because drop off can be a little confusing if you follow the signs. The car was very clean.

Booking online relatively straightforward. Was picking up at one location and dropping off at another. Staff at each end efficient, informative, pleasant. Price far more reasonable than other, usual name, car rental companies that had found online. Car perfectly clean, perhaps a smell of cigarette smoke? Was able to avail of EZ-Pass for a few dollars more.

From what I have heard and experienced myself I think they have a standard procedure to try making you to pay more than you booked for online.
When you first arrive they will tell you the car that you booked is not available and then they will tell you to wait for an hour while they look for a similar car. After a long wait they will pitch you with a car cost maybe around $800-$1000 more then you previously asked for but since you have been put on wait for a long time they will tell you they have talked to the manager to give you a discount since you have waited so long. So you end up with another car cost about $800-$1000 more but with like a small discount. Now you are probably still paying about $600-$800 more than you asked for. Then finally they will say there's another "special discount" from your flight company you use will take another 5% off maybe. Once again, still not what you looking for and now you have spent almost 2 hours with them. Oh btw they swipe your credit car before letting you know the final payment. I believe at this point some people will take the deal because they don't want to waste anymore time but yeah they will one last push you with words like but we have already washed the car or swiped the car for you. That's what I have experienced and heard people experienced the same thing.
