Comfort Inn & Suites Shawnee - Kansas City

My husband a I stayed at this hotel about a week ago and, let me tell you, it is a very nice hotel. We arrived early and were greeted by a young lady named grace. She was very sweet and bubbly. Night staff was great as well. I am sure they got tired of us but, handled our complaints great. Our reservations were some how messed up and, grace accommodated us. She went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable and everything was what we needed. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. there were a few minor issues that i am sure will work themselves out as they stay open longer. breakfast was good. We will be staying here again whenever we come to town.

If I could give zero stars I would...poo p not open overheard maintenance man saying if inspectors knew everything he knew place would be shut down...seen a rat or mouse in breakfast room.....didn't have hot water in shower or sinks....outlets in room didn't work....front desk agent grace,very rude and obnoxious...nigh agent Kary was very respectful and kind and made our stay worth while... she made our breakfast plates and brought them to us...she was very informative and helpful... Sweet girl had nothing but positive thoughts on hotel and property and was able to put our minds at ease about issues and apologies accepted .... thanks Kary if we choose to visit again it will be because of the customer service you provided.thanks so much again sweet child

If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. Its remodeled, but that's all it has going for it. We booked this hotel for my son's baseball tournament, because it advertised having an indoor pool with a slide. We thought it would be fun for our younger girls to come back to after a day of being outside in 90 degree + weather. However, we show up to check in and the pool is closed for construction. We ask to cancel our room because the pool was the ONLY reason we were going to stay. The person at the front desk refuses and says it's nonrefundable. She does offer to "adjust the price" and then offers to take 10 dollars off (room was $180+) for the inconvenience. We get to the room and the air conditioner is so loud that it's impossible to sleep. There is a whole in the wall next to the thermostat with a wire running through it. We had to request bedding for the pull out couch and the staff was rudewhen we did so. Also, the room only has a shower, no bathtub and u have two small kids that I needed to bathe. Obviously the don't clean the bathrooms as there is a pile of hair on the floor. Save yourself and your children the disappointment. Stay somewhere else.

Poor job of cleaning up construction mess. New plumbing. Staff made me feel like an idiot because I didn't know how to turn on the shower

We were one of the very first to stay at this new hotel. While there were several minor quirks from being new, the staff was absolutely fantastic. The rooms are large, great breakfasts and several great restaurants across the street.
