Hyatt Place Kansas City/Overland Park/Metcalf

Overall this was a fine hotel. I was disappointed there was not room service, although the front desk did provide two nearby restaurant menus that delivered. It was cool that the TV had external hookups so you could connect your laptop, but I didn't realize it in advance and did not bring an HDMI cable, and the hotel did not have any available to borrow or rent. Although shampoo and conditioner were provided, I had to specifically request lotion. The room was a bit worn, with carpet pulling away from the wall in places. I did enjoy the large seating/lounge area in the room through, and the bed was comfortable. I appreciated the in-room fridge as well. Breakfast options were limited but tasty.

Pretty nice place to stay if you're in the area. Free wifi, breakfast, which was decent on variety. The coffee had a real kick to it. The room was quite spacious too, with a sectional couch and separate work space across from it. Found it a little strange that a cemetery was across the street, but it was a beautiful place and not as creepy as I thought it might be in the end.

Very happy with our stay. The room was roomy with a nice bathroom where the sink was separate from the rest of the bathroom. Check-in was quick and easy as was checking out. The staff was wonderful. Sanford was professional but charismatic and Sidney was a delight and made me a birthday-worthy piece of cheesecake when I'd come to the desk for some dessert and she found out it was my birthday. The free breakfast was excellent. I would have given it five stars but the bed wasn't all that comfortable to me (altho my husband didn't mind it) and the pillows were like sleeping on air. Even with 2 stacked your head sinks to the bed. These 2 Things are rather important so I discounted one star. All in all it was a great stay and we will stay again.

I could not have asked for better customer service! Jonathan was absolutely phenomenal. I was trying to help my mother who is traveling across the country with her hotel stay. Jonathan helped her grab her bags, got her to her room and got her food! I work diligently in customer service every day and I must say this was the best I’ve seen! I cannot thank you enough for helping take care of my Mothers needs! Hyatt Customer For Life!

Beautiful scenery from my room on 6th floor, but room wasn't comfy or homey. A/c was cold and the thermostat wouldn't let me change it or even shut it off. Bathroom is SUPER small. Customer service was great.
