Motel 6 Kansas City Southwest - Lenexa

This is a great one or two night stay hotel. I have stayed here for several weeks and it's nice. The rooms are small but clean and cozy. The bathrooms are recently remodeled (as is the whole motel) and are quite lovely, though not extravagant. For the price its perfect. The only complaint I have is there is no breakfast. And no place near enough to go to breakfast. Overall its a good place just not all the amenities of a 5 star place. They have coin laundry and vending machines as well as a seasonal pool and free coffee daily.

Agent working the FD at check in was very friendly and provided information regarding property WiFi, morning coffee, how (unfortunately) the pool wasn't open yet; the agent working the desk at check out was equally as friendly. The room was very clean; the bed was neatly made, and towels in the bathroom neatly folded. There was no trash noticed, no smudges on the mirrors, etc. Location is great. While close to the interstate, it's not so close that all you hear is traffic noise, and it's close to shopping/restaurants and easy access to main roads. Will definitely stay again!

Miranda was incredible! She went above and beyond and was so helpful.. All the other staff was great as well.. a few issues - the parking was abysmal and my teenage daughter and myself had to walk quite a way in the dark to our room late at night, also one night there was some sort of problem and about 8 to police cars with lights were in the parking lot. i was a little bit uneasy with some of the people around the place to be honest. and the first night the sheets had a pretty bad smell, the room was cleaned the next day and the new sheets were fine, but the first night it was hard to sleep due to the smell. again the staff was great, very friendly and helpful.. the actual accomadations left something to be desired..

The rooms are small for 3 people, we originally had room 123 which had the walls crumbling in the bathroom next to the shower and mold. The toilet was not flushing correctly on Sunday and I guess their is not a maintenance staff on hand to fix minor problems like this so they moved us to a different room which was a big inconvenience. I did not think this was in a bad part of town because we stayed in another hotel a block away and did not have anything like the people at this hotel. There were people out wondering around at all hours, there were multiple people sitting outside their doors talking to others at all hours, my parents did not feel safe having their daughters out because of the looks they would get, and we even had one family change hotels because 5 or 6 police cars came out to arrest someone. This is not a location I will use or recommend.

For what I paid, it was great! The walls were thick enough that I didn't hear the neighbors. It was in a great location too. But, the customer service was excellent! One time the cops came which was alarming, but to my knowledge, it was just a domestic dispute.
