Hotel was very nice, what you would expect from a Fairfield. Our room was spacious and clean. Check out time was also a little later than the "norm" which was nice since we arrived after 10pm. Only drawback was there was no extra anything. There we're no extra pillows and blankets in the room, as is customary. The closet was also at the far end of the room. I know this was just particular to the room we stayed in, but the microwave smelled like bad Indian food.

Very nice hotel! Quiet, but not lacking on amenities! Great stop when heading south of Overland Park!
Awesome staff & well designed! Marriot has done it again!

We stayed in 3 Fairfield Inns and Suites on our trip. The 1st outside of St. Louis, the 2nd in Cheyenne, WY, and then in Kansas City, the Overland Fairfield. The 1st two were excellent. One had been renovated and the the Cheyenne one was new. Great atmosphere, clean rooms, friendly staff and fabulous breakfasts. The Overland Fairfield had a nice lady there named Lee. She was very caring, but the manager could have cared less about our stay. They took us in late that night but was not happy to have my therapy small dog. The other two Fairfields we're happy to have her. Then the air was not working properly, very humid. The room was old with not so clean forest green carpet of the 90's. The curtains were damaged and my bed didn't have a mattress cover. I knew this since the room was so old I sprayed for bedbugs just in case. Then the breakfast was not good, and when we checked out, the bill was $60 more than the other two Fairfields, and the manager never asked us how our stay was.
It was a bad way to end our trip. It's needs attention!

My family and I own a pet transporting company. We travel all over the United States and stay at hotels. Usually we have pets with us and stay La Quinta Inn and Suites, because they are pet friendly and do not charge a pet fee. However, this time we did not have any pets with us, so we wanted to try a different chain of hotels. I am so glad that we gave Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott a chance, because it is nicest, cleanest, most up-to-date Hotel we have stayed at in a long time. Upon arrival we were happy with the appearance of the lobby and the friendliness of the staff. Normally in most hotels there is an odor in the elevators and the hallways but everything smelled fresh and clean at this Fairfield. Our room, which was a standard two queen bed room, was very cozy and clean. The beds were extremely comfortable, and had just the right amount pillows and blankets. The bathroom was a good size, so you didn't feel cramped up when you went to the bathroom. I love the fact that their travel size shampoo, conditioner, lotion & soaps are Paul Mitchell. One thing that I forgot to pack with us this time was razors. I went down to the front desk prepared to buy a disposable razor and the front desk attendant gave me two razors. There's not many places that still give you things for free unless it's already in the room. The continental breakfast was very good. There was a good selection of different breakfast foods. They have a waffle making station and offer maple syrup, sugar-free syrup, honey and agave syrup. They also have an oatmeal station. You had different things to choose from to add in to your oatmeal, like brown sugar, cinnamon sugar, slivered almonds, walnuts, raisins, and dried cranberries. Next they had the bread station. They offered two to three different types of bagels, several different flavors of pastries, several different types of bread 4 toast, English muffins and biscuits. They had several flavors of jelly, cream cheese, margarine and butter for your bread choice. They had scrambled eggs and egg omelets with an option to add cheese and or salsa. They also had turkey sausage and pork bacon. There were three or four different flavors of yogurt and three different types of cold cereal. For fresh fruit there were bananas, pears and apples. For beverages you could choose between coffee, hot tea, hot chocolate, orange juice, apple juice, whole milk, 2% milk, and skim milk. We will definitely be staying with another Fairfield Inn and Suites in the future when we aren't with pets!! I guess that would be the only downside....that the only pets welcomed is service animals.
