The automated service is completely useless as it does not have any direct way of requesting a living person, although as others have noted, even when you get a real person [it can take up to half an hour] they tend to be rude or indifferent or simply lacking any knowledge about your question at which point they say you made the "wrong request" and say call again. If I was not satisfied with the actual provision day-to-day of the services I pay for I would definitely try to find another service. My problem is that their automated pay system via the Internet keeps telling me I do not exist. Frustrating but not the end of the world. You would think however that a proper business would make sure that the "help with paying your bill" part would work perfectly.

Said they wont help with my wifi since I own my own modem (after the tech told us another modem would suit us better.) This was after they replaced their own modem 3 times due to issues. Frequent outages after midnight, so be used to only having 2/3 of the day usable. Wonderful techs that come out, but the rest is garbage experiences.

This is literally the worst internet company ever. The first time I had their service at a previous location it would go out constantly. This time, I have be plagued by constant customer service issues. For example, I got a new debit card and tried to change my auto pay with them. I literally just wanted to give them money. But they can't do that over the phone. Who the hell can't do that over the phone? I've done it successfully with all my other accounts. And since I didn't have my account number, literally the only way to do this is to physically go to their office. Paying a bill shouldn't be this hard and inconvenient.
Edit: I knew they could do it over the phone. I had to call back and be helped by someone else. But eventually I did it. Still... it shouldn't have taken two calls to do something that simple. The first girl was so poorly trained she literally told me it was impossible to do over the phone.

Horrible. Got to make this quick, service may go out. Frequent outages (weekly). for the price just not good value. And if you do any file sharing they track, monitor, and report. I watched some old (pirated)Seinfeld one night when service was down (downloaded years ago). Service came on so the downloads would have been public then. They suspended me for having the file.

If you're a gamer like myself, you know how a reliable online service is a necessity to enjoy the multiplayer gaming experience.
But Mediacom is about as reliable as a Missouri weather man in the middle of winter who is constantly late to work but always blames it on the traffic and you don't know if he's lying or not so you just always let it go but it's a Tuesday night and that means he's off the clock anyway so he's relaxing and enjoying a cup of herbal tea while his dog is still locked in the car for some reason, which is probably--he realizes--part of the reason his wife left him so he's kind of sad now but that's truly no excuse for the shotty Mercy he mains that plays too much offense and only revives party members but you all have to pay for it when he's booted from the game after he tries to ult on a laggy map because lo-and-behold, he has Mediacom, too.
Don't be like me and that guy. Be smarter. Don't get Mediacom.
