Mellow Mushroom

I'll give it 4 stars because the pizza was good, there one one thing that really turned me off. My boyfriend and I asked for straws for our water and a few minutes later, the server flew by our table and tossed two unwrapped straws our table as he went past. Why would I want to put my mouth on a straw that had been touched by this guys's bare hands and flung on a table where Lord knows what has been? We just left the straws there and almost just got up and left, but we had already placed out order and we were starving. These servers really need to be trained on customer service, although the straw thing should be obvious. We are living in a time where many young people don't have basic common sense. Another point, no garlic powder. I've never been to a pizza joint in all my life that didn't have garlic powder available. Shouldn't that be a given like ketchup at a hamburger spot? I may or may not return to this restaurant.

Their management has gone off the deep end in the name of Cultural Marxism and banned straws in the restaurant due to environmental concerns. Funny how they are still in the cocktails the bar. Used to love taking my family there regularly, but not anymore. Having a straw in my soda is an important part of the dining out experience. Keep your sillt progressive agenda at home and just serve your customers what they want.

So went in today on my lunch at noon and asked the servers about how long for a slice of pepperoni she said 10 to 15 minutes. I said okay and paid. 30 minutes later when my lunch was over still no pizza! I was standing there for 30 minutes watching people who came in after me get their food. The staff didn't care at all. So because my lunch was over I wanted my money back. She said it would take longer for me to get a refund.... what the !@#$ so not only did I not get my food, I didn't get a refund I have to go back.... if they had 0 stars as an option I would give them a 0.

I came here for a quick bit while downtown, and had a few issues with it. When I was sat at a table, there was already food smeared on the table from the previous customers, and when I was given a plate to eat my pizza off of, it also had food dried on it. Just little cleanliness things that should be easily noticed if someone took a little extra time. My food also came about a half hour later than it should have because it was run to the wrong table and had to be remade. I understand that kind of thing happens at a restaurant, and the manager was very kind about it. They offered a 50% discount on my food, and I appreciate their effort to reconcile that.

They charge $3 for vegan cheese. In South Carolina where I know vegan cheese was rarely used, I was charged $1. Even the employees at this Denver location said management is just trying to scam people with the vegan cheese prices. They recently raised it from $2 to $3. I'm really disappointed in this location. I've never been to a mellow where the management was a capitalist cold uncaring person. Rather wait until I fly back East to enjoy Mellow than to go here.
