Pep Boys Auto Service & Tire

Brought my car in to get A.C. fixed. The employer responsible or certified to fix A.C. apparently wasn't even at work that day even though the manager said he was! Then on top of that they made my car even worse. Destroyed my brakes!They didn't even tell me they messed up my brakes until I notified them the next day. They told me, "oh well and they are sorry but won't fix the brakes they broke for free'! Stay away from this place unless you want to drive off their parking lot with bigger car issues than you started with. Mike should be replaced period,No honor or integrity to do what's right

Obviously a lot of people leave bad reviews for a lot of businesses and are generally ignorant about what they’re talking about. I’ll leave an honest review about this place having used it three times in the last three months. Every time I have been in I haven’t experienced anything but niceness. Sometimes it does take a while but it’s a mechanic shop not McDonald’s. The new manager Ray was really helpful with my issue today and went above and beyond to make sure they solved my problem that no one else could. Just like when my girlfriends car needed a once over a month ago and just like when I got new tires there a couple months ago, it was a great experience and I will be going back.

I have used peboys for many years in many locations, but will not be using pepboys anymore. For years, service was pretty good and I didn't have any issues. But in the last 2 years, service has been horrible. I had a full brake service with new rotors, drums resurfaced, ceramic pads, etc... performed and shortly after leaving the store the cover on my back truck wheel came off. Obviously was not put on well and now it is gone. I have made several appointments on off days for simple oil changes. They often take several hours from start to finish which is absolutely unacceptable. My most recent visit, the customer service rep refused to change the oil unless I used a synthetic blend in my 2006 ford explorer. I've had many oil changes done at that pepboys with that vehicle and always put basic oil in it without a problem and without customer service saying anything. But this guy just refused unless I upgraded to the partial synthetic. Even though my manual says that basic oil is all it needs. I thought this was absolutely pathetic and either an attempt at squeezing an upcharge out of me or being inept at his job. I took my vehicle over to sears, 200 yards away and they were great. Affordable, very friendly and didn't act like a know it all. They were well informed and performed all the maintenance I needed without any problems. They even put the sticker on the car for the oil change at 5,000 miles instead of trying to swindle me by putting a sticker on there for 3,000 miles. They will be getting my business and recommendations from now on. Updated: The company reached out to me, so I followed up with them. The local manager then called to work out a solution. I gave him details to help solve the problem and he said he would get back to me. Never heard back from him...

I used to go to pepboys all the time for oil change or anything related to the car... but the last I went which i don't even rmr bcuz i was so pissed i left.. they wouldn't take the car unless i used their upgraded version of oil change which costed way more then what i usually get done for.. and they would take hours i mean hours just to get oil change done. They use to do tire rotation and everything within.. but last time they charged me extra for everything.. they charged me $130 just for freaking oil change and for alignment.. which is ridiculous. Anyway.. i have stopped going their.. sears or express oil are much better and quicker service!
