Pep Boys Auto Service & Tire

Late yesterday evening I discovered a large nail in one of my wife's front tires on her Ford Expedition. We had planned on leaving for a trip early the next morning at 5:30 and I needed it repaired before then. After having had a set of tires and brake work done by Pep Boys last Summer (with good results)I decided to take it back to them for the repair. I drove out of my way about 9 miles (passing multiple tire shops along the way) to get to the Pep Boys in Pelham. I arrived at 6:20PM and their stated closing time was 7:00PM. When I went in there were 2 managers at the desk. When I explained my situation to them, one replied he could fix it at 7:30 in the morning. I repeated that we were leaving at 5:30 in the morning and he said "you can bring it back at 7:30 in the morning. I told him I had no choice but to go to a competitor and would not be back at Pep Boys, to which both seemed indifferent. Had this been a complex repair I would have understood. However , with 40 minutes to closing and this being somewhat of an emergency repair that may have taken 15 minutes, it is hard for me to understand them not taking the time to fix it. The bottom line is I needed good customer service and Pep Boys did not want to step up to help. Not only will we not be back but we will relay this story anytime car repair comes up in our conversations. Update:4/27/2018 John at Pep Boys in Pelham contacted me on April 24th regarding my post of my recent visit to their store. Even though there was no way for him to undo the previous situation,, he made every attempt to make it right and was both courteous and professional. I am satisfied he has addressed the issue and I am confident if this situation arose with a future customer it would be addressed appropriately.

Expensive.... had them do some work, then got a quote on a battery for my bmw. Precision did it for 100 less. The work they did was good, but we will be taking our cars elsewhere because of price. Also, twice, stuff missing out of my car.....2 books of stamps and my brand new calendar.

Awesome, I was in Pelham Alabama on a business trip and my car just died at a gas station next door to Pep Boys. I walked over and met Jonathan Drumheller who turned out to be the Store manager. He walked back over to my car with me with a smile i need to ad. He made a couple of adjustments to my battery ans said start it up. I did just that! He new knew what to look for and how to fix it. He made a bad day a good one. Thank you Jonathan. As i offered to pay him he said- have a great day and would not take any money. Wow- that was above what i expected!

Took my vehicle in to have the tires balanced and still felt vibration after getting my vehicle back. Took the vehicle to Firestone and they found no evidence of the tires being balanced.

Had alignment done to my GMC truck at this location today, Paul Scorby welcome me to the shop and was very profecional & help me a lot. Great job done, great people working in shop. I'm satisfy consumer, thank you guys.
