Schrimpf Management

I moved in 3months ago and I truly wish I paid attention to the reviews, I will be fair in my review, and that is why I gave them 3 stars instead of one. I've had to call them for several issues in the 3months I have lived here and no matter how frustrating for us they have always answered within 24 hours as it says in the contract, and have been quite pleasant. well on Monday I called about bugs, worms inclusive getting into my house trough the front door that isn't properly sealed, and I was told I would get a call back, and when I didn't get one in 24hours I called back, I spoke to their call center who took a message and then told me to also try again in ten minutes to speak to someone in the front desk, and so I did, when I did the lady who answered seemed irritated, told me to spray outside.... I'll leave that alone because anyone who hears that knows exactly how that sounds, either way I tried to be polite only to get a call today telling me that Mr. Schrimpf doesn't wish to put a storm door. well then he got on the phone and immediately told me what he was not going to do, so I asked if he was going to listen to what I had to say or just be aggressive. he said "you've called three times and I know what you have to say and if you want a storm door, you can buy one, the neighbor bought his..." the conversation continued to get aggressive that I could barely get a word in, I eventually did get a word in and let him know that there is a visible hole(gap) in our door way and he again got aggressive and I told him I was going to get off the phone because he was being aggressive and I wasn't going to deal with it, he then said I have a contractor coming out to look at it tomorrow. He could have said that in the beginning and avoided the unpleasant conversation, I told him I will be here and he should have a good day. I have never ever felt so disrespected by a landlord, I guess when I am done with Law School, it will be easy for me to defend tenants, now that I see what a rude landlord is like. I am not writing this to ruin their business, because apart from this isolated incident they have been quite pleasant.

Mr. Schrimpf showed me 3 duplex’s 2 of which were very small and one smelled like cat pee. The other was very nice so I filled out an application for it which he turned me down. I had been up front with him and said I was going through a divorce and was not sure how my credit would be, but had a co signer who would vouch for me, and that most of the debit was caused from my ex husband who would be taking on that debt. He called and said that with credit like mine I was a “problem” and that he owed many poperties and pretty much said he had a standard to keep up, in which I told him he was being very rude and should not judge a person he didn’t even know and what the sisuation a person was going through. I said I understood about the credit issues and understood he had to treat everyone the same, but being rude was not right or professional. Thankful I have found a wonderful duplex with wonderful landlords! I will never recomend this reality company to anyone.

Brad showed me a place and offered me two weeks of free rent if I wanted to move in mid-month. When I went to sign paperwork, Roger said there was no such deal. When I inquired about why they were telling me two different things, I was cussed at and told that Schrimpf would never rent to me. That was fine with me. I totally dodged a bullet, I suspect.

I rented from them for eight years and really have no complaints! I called and made an appointment to come in and talked to Brad about what I was looking for and he showed me four or five that day. Of course the first one he showed me was the winner. Huge apartment with all the amenities of home, private driveway, large deck, and a view of the Capitol! Maintenance was never an issue, had the fridge die and they replaced it with a brand new one within 2 days. I received my full deposit back within two weeks of moving out. Donna and the ladies up front of the office are great also, always nice to chat with when dropping off my rent payment each month. If you're looking for place to rent in Jeff City, definitely worth giving Schrimpf a shot! I was told they are one of the largest rental companies in town also.

We rented from Schrimpf Management for 8 years-they were prompt whenever issues arised and friendly when dealing with them. Upon moving out we cleaned our duplex according to their move out expectations (and went beyond) and we received our whole deposit in return. I highly recommend renting from Schrimpf Management. Donna was wonderful to work with. Thank you Schrimpf Management!
