Best Western Hartford Hotel & Suites

I've been to a good amount of Best Western and Best Western Plus hotels but this was the worst by far. When I arrived the hotel looked a bit old from the exterior but I didn't pay it any mind because I know that some hotels take care of their interior more than the exterior. The lobby area looked okay, and the hostess greeted me with a smile and sorted me out in a timely manner. After I was told what my room number was and directed to go all the way to the other side of the hotel to get to the elevator, I noticed that there was construction/renovation going on that I wasn't made aware of. I then got to the elevator and saw a sign saying that it was out of service. I was very upset thinking to myself that I would have to take the stairs with multiple bags and a toddler. I was then directed to another elevator still on the other side of the hotel but around the corner from the out of service elevator. When I got to the room. I noticed holes in the sheets that were on the bed, holes in the sheets of the pull out sofa, and make up on the pillows of the bed. A room attendant switched everything out for me after I requested it. I then noticed hair all over the tub. It was as though they didn't care about how the room looked. The only reason I decided to stay was because I found that it would be harder to move all of the belongings that I had with me while traveling with my toddler to find another hotel at the time. I definitely won't be coming back.

I am a loyal Best Westerner, but this one was such a bad experience. I had booked for 2 nights, but had to cut short and left after 1 night. I got ROBBED, yes.. didn't even know it was possible in one of these hotels and for around $250. Alicia on the front desk told us that the housekeeper was there for less than a year. And then we spoke to the manager Lindsay, who was very rude on the phone and said she already anticipates a negative review (implying that she didn't care). Also she negated Alicia's comment and said the housekeeper was here for 10 years.. pretty sure the housekeeper was in her 20's.. that was just a blatant lie, so she didn't have to investigate. Very saddened by the whole experience. Ruined what could have been a perfect memorial weekend.

The room was comfortable, clean and quite spacious. Amenities I appreciated included the numerous bed pillows, the large flat screen TV, and the very large bathroom. Also, my room was handicapped accessible, so I really appreciated the extra grab bars installed in the shower. The temperature control was easy to operate. The hotel location seemed to be fairly central to everything as well.

Staff was annoying and very inconsiderate also they charged me a $1000 for a dirty room in which I tipped their staff everyday for the mess. The day before they didn’t come clean my room so the day of check out they decide to take pictures of all the trash that had been collected from the previous day so they could put and ridiculous charge on my credit card.Pretty sneaky

We stay here often when traveling. It is consistently a very good place to stay. Very friendly staff. Clean quiet rooms. Good parking area. Good breakfast and lounge area. The lounge is inviting and sunny during the day if you want to spend some time out of your room. A very good place to stay. Will stay again.
