The parents and I had separate rooms, but both were very damp and wallpaper was peeling off the wall. While amenities nearby are nice (places to eat) the adjoining restaurant was undergoing construction as of 5/12/18. We were in town for graduation at Maryland and chose this hotel because if its proximity and shuttle available to the Xfinity Center. The morning of arrival I called guest services to confirm and was told that the shuttle did not go to the University but went to the College Park Metro only. So we had to rush to get (paid) breakfast to arrive on time. The food was served in buffets out of a banquet room, with nobody available to take orders. Then, the single working elevator was not working, so you have to drag your luggage and strollers down the stairs. At the University, I saw the Holiday Inn shuttle dropping people off... The DID have a shuttle, but whoever I spoke to didn't know.

Had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The front desk staff is very helpful, and the cleaning and cooking staff are friendly. The two main highlights for me were the shuttle service and the towels. The shuttle will take you anywhere in a 5 mile radius, which is a real blessing if you are in town for a nearby event. Dont forget to tip the driver! And the towels are basically your average hotel towels, except they smell wonderful! I don't know if they always use the same detergent, but they should, because when I stayed, my towels smelled like delicious cookies. It was awesome.

The room is very nice but the place in general is dirty and the lobby smells like marijuana for some reason. The hallway on my floor was stale and not air conditioned last night. The whole place is under construction, including the much advertised, Moose Creek Steak House. I should have checked the amenities list beforehand, but I feel like most places have free continental breakfast. Instead they have a buffet, a $11.50/person buffet. Front desk staff was super polite though.

The location is the greatest positive aspect of this hotel. Proximity to I-495 and Route 1 makes the Holiday Inn a perfect hub if you plan on covering a lot of area. The rooms are nicely equipped for those booking extended stays. Microwaves and mini fridges make life a little easier for a weary traveller.
