Me and my husband decided to celebrate our 1st year anniversary here. We live just 40 min away but wanted to experience the KC downtown part. Absolutely stunning!!! This hotel is so luxurious!!! And the service is amazing!!! We came back to our room and found such a cute surprise!!! Champagne strawberries and cheese! Love it absolutely recomend!!! High end hotel.

I had my wedding reception here 23 years ago. We've stopped in for cocktails over the years. It remains one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever visited. It has a charm and warmth that many of the newer hotels lack. I don't know where they find their staff, but I have never been disappointed.

We started off with our stay by dropping off our car via valet before heading to the Lion King. When we returned after the show at 4:30 pm our room was still not ready (check-in is at 3 pm). We told the front desk that we would just walk to grab dinner then come back. We waited for over 30 minutes waiting for the valet to bring us our stroller from our car. We even asked 5 different times if they would just point us to our car and we would grab the stroller from our car. We were told everytime that they would be with us in a minute. It was clear from the line of people waiting for valet that it would not be another minute. After waiting for 30 minutes we decided to walk carrying our two small children as the stroller was not clearly going to come in time. When we arrived back to the hotel around 6:30 pm our room was finally ready! The hotel and rooms were decorated well and make up for the lack of staff and attention to customer service. The next morning when we checked out a valet helped us with our bags (they don't allow for customers to do it themselves). When we arrived to our next destination it was clear that the valet never got one of our bags of clothing into our car. We called that day to alert the staff that we were missing a hanging bag of clothing. The staff kept on putting us on hold to then return 20 minutes later stating they were not sure where the hanging bag of clothes were but we should call back the next day. Two days later we called back and were told housekeeping handles all lost and found items. We left a detailed description of the bag and clothes inside the bag. No return call. No way to rectify the situation. No one taking responsibility for their staff messing up several times throughout our stay. We were not the only ones who were frustrated over and over again with the lack of staff to care well for customers and for the few staff members that were there not rectifying the situations to the best of their abilities. Very disappointed with Phillips Hotel.

Our few days stay at the Hotel Phillips was about perfect. From our arrival to check-out everything was great. I was especially impressed with the hotel staff. Front desk, housekeeping, valet and restaurant personnel all made such a great impression in their effort to make us feel welcomed. This was our first trip to KC. We will return and stay at Hotel Phillips again!

Initially, we weren't pleased with the front desk staff when we arrived on Friday. We honestly didn't think she was very friendly and she had a stoic disposition. She was also there Saturday and same thing. Despite her not being very friendly, we were, overall, very pleased with our stay at Hotel Phillips. I would give an overall 4.5 rating (not a 4/not a 5). The hotel is beautiful and has a large shuffleboard to play while waiting for valet or sipping on a drink. The rooms are clean and the hotel staff was very responsive and friendly when we asked for additional towels. We will be staying here on future visits to Kansas City. It's in a good location and is beautiful. Very good price for the beauty.
