Avis Car Rental

I have rented from them 4 times within 6 months or so and the cars are always dirty.. make sure you check that your tank is what the paper is saying it is. I have had to have them note what it was reading. The lady that rents the cars out is rude all the time as she is better then the customer. Really unprofessional when we are spending over a 100.00 easy each visit. Give some customer appreciation without a customer your company wouldn’t be able to give you a job.!

Smooth and Fast. Pre-booked a car ditectly through Avis to use after a cruise out of Galveston in February 2018. Eeverthing was as expected. The full sized Nissan Altima was ready at the scheduled 10 PM and at the price of $38 per day; including taxes! We took an Uber ride from the Carnival cruise port to the Texas City Sears Auto location; cost about $26 and takes 30 minutes during peak disembarking time. We did some sight seeing during the day and dropped off the car at Avis IAH Airport that evening. Filled only $5 fuel before drop off. Total cost about $80 for two people so about the same as two shuttle fares bought from the cruise ships but gives you a day of transportation. I read all the bad Google reviews after this car rental. Might be a change in staff or service practices but I did not see any of the attitude or procedural problems past reported. The only improvement I would have wanted would be a Galveston location close to the cruise port but this Texas City location is still a lot more convenient than Houston Hobby or IAH airports.

Words can’t even describe the service I received when picking up my vehicle 45 mins past my reservation time at this location. I know what the problem is and I’ve seen it over and over with the staff that is representing Avis at this location. Corporate needs the come down and witness it themselves. Will never return here. Not to mention when you call corporate and they tell what they can do to fix the problem and the representative behind the counter rolls her eyes and shows no respect to customers and says I don’t what they told you on the phone but I’m “not” doing that. Yeah good luck with this location Avis.

They don't even deserve a one star, to be honest. Unprofessional and irresponsible, completely screwed up our reservation. They took the reservation, but don't know how to keep it. Asshols. Please people, try to avoid them at all costs.

I was extremely happy with the passenger van I rented. It could have been cleaner at pickup, but I overlooked that considering the convenience of picking it up at Mall of the Mainland instead of Hobby Airport. Overall, I would do it again.
